You might think that being an athlete is fun and easy, but in reality it is not. It is hard work and takes up a lot of time. What you may see when a touchdown is caught, or a goal is scored is just a fraction of what being an athlete is like.
Half of being a student athlete is putting in work in the classroom. Just because you play a sport, doesn't mean you get any special treatment. Due dates aren't extended and you get the same amount of work as everyone else, even if you miss school for a game.
The worst part of being a student athlete is the amount of sleep you get. Each morning I wake up I just think of the time I get to bed that night. Or when you just finished a game and you have no motivation to study for that test you have been putting off.
Missing school and going to away games has its pros and cons. The bus rides and hotels with your team are always a good time. You need to learn how to be responsible and communicate with your teachers when you will be missing school so you can make up the late work.
The memories you make with your teammates are ones that will last a lifetime. Playing a sport is definitely one of the best decisions I have made in my life.

I really enjoyed your blog. Being a student athlete myself, I can 100% agree with what you said. People never really get to see the behind the scenes of what we do. As hard as it is to balance school and a sport, it really is the best decison I made too. All those little victory moments are worth it.
Overall the blog does a good job of explaining what the life of a student-athlete is like. I really liked how you described specific scenarios where you didn't want to study for tests after long games. I can relate to the part about no sleep and how you are always wondering how much sleep you will get. I also like how you included two pictures of the different parts of life as a student-athlete it gives a good visual for readers.
